This will be done by crowdsourcing the information. Contribute and Submit.
UNDERSTAND THE URBAN INDUSTRY
THE URBAN INDUSTRY - EXPOSED AND EXPLAINED
The Urban Industry (Naik & Oldfield, 2007) can be understood in similar ways to the Prison Industrial Complex or the Military Industrial Complex.
The Urban Industry is mutually supporting economic, political, cultural and social 'investments' that knowingly and unknowingly contribute to the processes causing urbanisation and the centralisation of humanity in to urban areas -often in large or mega cities.
The Urban Industry actively promotes living in cities is a sign of human evolution and inevitable human progress.
DISCERN BETWEEN URBAN MYTHS AND FACTS. IS EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT CITIES WRONG?
True or false? China used more concrete in 3 years than the U.S. used in the entire 20th Century?
True or false? More buildings will be built in the first three decades of this century than in all of human history combined?
True or false? Despite most nations having significant declines of birth and fertility rates, there is a life threatening population explosion which high density cities can solve?
True or false? More data has been created and stored in the past two years than in the entire previous history of humanity?
True or false? Despite all technological advancements major companies like IKEA are working on the assumption people will 'live' in micro-apartments?
ACCESS LATEST EVENTS, BLOGS, BOOK REVIEWS
Urbanstudies.net will publish and promote events, blog posts and book reviews that critically examine the causes of urbanisation.
We will also be posting information on our own upcoming events - most will be related to our forthcoming coming books (Critical Cities Volume 5 and The Urban Industry).
As more books are published on the causes of urbanisation we will post our reviews of these books here.
Please get in touch if you would like us to platform or review your work which is related to the causes of urbanisation.
We very much welcome opportunities to share our research and respectfully debate anyone at events or online.
SHARE EXPLAINER VIDEOS ON KEY TERMS & THEORIES
Many people learn best through visualisations (including us sometimes), As a result we have made the following 'explainer videos' with the help of some wonderful artists.
Please let us know if there are other concepts, theories or terms you feel would be explained well in this video format. We need your help to translate them in to the following languages.
Moreover in the coming years we will be publishing Learning Materials for schools and home educating families. There is unfortunately a great deal of misinformation in school and university curriculums and education websites. Please do get in touch if you have experience of this and you are able assist and advise.

PERHAPS CITIES ARE NOT THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE ANYMORE? WHAT OTHER OPTIONS ARE THERE?
After generations of families only living in urban contexts is it possible to even envisage a life outside of cities?
There is no doubt the majority contemporary cities could no longer be considered healthy places to live, and particularly so for children and families.

URBANSTUDIES.INFO PUBLISHES INFORMATION ON THE CAUSES OF URBANISATION
Urbanstudies.info was established and is run by Deepa Naik and Trenton Oldfield.
We are a husband and wife team who have worked together researching the causes of urbanisation through our not-for-profit organisation This Is Not A Gateway and its publishing arm; Myrdle Court Press.
We are independent and have no affiliations with any institutions though very much welcome opportunities to share our research and respectfully debate anyone.
We work from our home where we also home-educate/unschool our children. We are learning to re-live without everyday use of the internet, so please forgive us if there is a slight delay in us getting back to you.
MOST SEARCHES FOR INFORMATION ON URBANISATION OCCUR IN NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING NATIONS, CAN YOU HELP OR SUPPORT?
Most 'official' literature on urbanisation and cities is in English despite most current urbanisation occurring in non-English speaking nations.
We would like to have all information on this website available in Arabic, Chinese, Hindi and Spanish as a matter of urgency,
It is important to include Bengali, French, Indonesian, Japanese, Oromo, Russian, Swahili and Turkish. Moreover we would like to make sure knowledge from these nations is available in English.
Could you help with translating any of these pages, videos, diagrams etc? Could you make a financial donation so we can pay professional translators?
